Cue Andres Calamaro, an Argentine musician, composer and Latin Grammy winner. He is one of the huge pioneers of Argentine rock and has sold over 1.3 million copies to date. This accomplished singer songwriter walks out onstage with a telecaster over his shoulder ready to give a huge delivery of rock and roll music. The riffs that he plays on his guitar tear through the audience filling the vast space that is this huge ampitheatre. The audience are animated immediately, shouting and twisting, ready to sing at the top of their lungs some of that Argentine rock and roll that Calamaro is so famous for. He launches into “On the Rock” which of course was one of his biggest hits globally. “El Cantante” is the song that Calamaro strips back the sounds entirely to just flamenco guitar which still makes a big sound, with everyone completely silent for the next five minutes of this song, a great moment indeed.
